We made it back from Glastonbury alive and with Paul Simon still ringing in our ears we’re already getting excited about July’s festival offerings, first up being the local the Shoreditch 1234 Festival. The 24 hour music show down takes place on July 9th, and is handily located in Shoreditch Park, just a stones throw away from Cooler HQ.
We’re big fans of the one day shindig as the lineup is well and truly eclectic, the site is compact enough to never lose your friends in, and at the end of the day instead of staggering back to a soggy tent, you can head out to one of the nine official after parties to keep the good vibes going into the morning. Not a welly boot or wet wipe for miles.
For those of you lucky to have tickets already Cooler ‘ones to watch out for’ include the stunning Echo Lake with their eerie, haunting, fuzz rock offerings and The History of Apple Pie, our new favourite grunge band bringing Pavement and Dino Jr. style tuneful rock back to the draw-board with a fresh young dose of energy. We’re also not going to miss getting in the pit for the garage rock party guaranteed by rowdy rock n’roller’s Black Lips, and having a moment with the ever weird spoken word poet / musician Lydia Lunch – for a taste of something different.
