If you’re looking for some stylish threads to invest in this winter, check out Oakley’s new Gretchen Bleiler Signature Collection, a women’s line of technical outerwear, lifestyle apparel and accessories designed by the Olympic silver medallist and four-time X-Games snowboard champ!
This is the first time Oakley has teamed up with one of their top athletes to create a comprehensive clothing collection where fashion meets function. Gretchen worked with Oakley’s expert team of designers to create a 17-piece collection that moves from head to toe – from goggles and sunglasses to fur-trimmed high altitude jackets. Blending personality and functionality, the line is bold and edgy yet still highly technical, with up to 20,000mm breathable waterproofing in performance pieces.
Designs include added features that Gretchen looks for in her gear, such as the button system added to the back of the pant leg to keep it from dragging. The jackets have an asymmetrical zipper with leather snaps across and a removable fur-trim on the hood to give it a designer feel. The pants are low-rise and boot-cut with a belt to accessorize, offering a relaxed performance fit but with a more flattering slimness than conventional designs.
Motivated by her environmental activism, there is also a simple yet stylish capsule collection of an eco-friendly jacket and pant set. The performance pieces take advantage of eco storm textiles which use technology that reduces energy and carbon dioxide emissions by one-fifth compared to the manufacture of raw polyester. The protective layer is produced without solvents, which also cuts down on eco assaults. The collection also includes a selection of the lightest organic tees.
