What: Roxy Pro Hawaii, ASP Women’s World Tour Event #7
Where: Sunset Beach, Oahu Hawaii
When: 24 November – 6 December 2008
A lay day was called for the Roxy Pro at Sunset Beach yesterday, with only small 1-2 foot swell on offer.
Event No. 7 of 8 on the 2008 ASP Women’s World Tour, the Roxy Pro at Sunset Beach marks the second stop on the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, but the lack of surf as well as swell forecast on the horizon prompted event organizers to call competition off for the day.
“Conditions are obviously very small today and we’ve called competition off,” Randy Rarick, Vans Triple Crown Event Director, said. “We’re tracking a new Northwest swell that is projected to come in later today and build over the coming days so we’ll check back in at 7am tomorrow.”
Event organizers will reconvene this morning at 7am local time for a possible 8am start. The waiting period for the Roxy Pro Sunset runs through December 6, 2008.
