The track in the middle was my first run, the one on the right my boyfriend’s – and then a bloody skier sneaked in! Unforunately I was in the anker lift when I saw him drop in, otherwise there would have been some seroius injuries…
I think the weather gods most love me (at least this year).
After mind blowing tree runs at the Bid Mountain Pro and great powder at the avalanche camp last week I just had another great day on the mountain with white love EVERYWHERE.
Living in Munich is awesome if you are a snowboarder. On Wednesday I spontaneously decided to visit a friend who is spening her ski holidays in a tiny resort in Tyrol. So I packed my board and my boyfriend in my car and one hour later we arrived in the Bergwangertal near the Germany border.
The resort itself is far from being a real banger, but the amazing thing was that although it had snowed two days straight there were millions (ok, I might be exaggerating, but there really were plenty) of easily acessible powder fields absolutely untracked! Even at 4pm there were still bits to nail a first line…
But the highlight of the whole day was a closed slope that had turned into powder heaven. It was just not steep enough to bear an avalanche risk but you could still get enough speed for an amazing line. We only discovered this baby at 2 in the afternoon but were still the first ones to go in there! We killed it until there was no more terrain to track and left with the biggest smiles on our faces….
On the way back I was too stoked to get mad about getting lost once again or worry about the 7 missed calls from work I didn’t answer because I was too busy getting lost in the white rush…
