We’d like to officially announce that winter is over. But it’s not quite summer just yet, so time to peek across to the other side of the globe, where the sun is shining, the sand is warm and the waves are on for The Roxy Pro Gold Coast! So far the qualifications and quarters have knocked some big names out the water such as Sally Fitzgibbons, who was pipped to the post by Lakey Peterson. On the other side of the draw Bianca Buitendag of South Africa caused a major upset by defeating (defending champion) Tyler Wright. And Steph Gilmore and Carissa Moore both styled it through, but will now take on…each other in the semis! Phwoar, that’s one we wouldn’t want to bet on but will be loving watching.
