Coach Miriam did a great job telling us what we did wrong when bumm or face landed in the snow before the board once again – but did not have to motivate any of us to hike up again and again and again…
After wonderful powderland it was now time to do what we came for – kill the park! And oh yes, we did, not only the kicker but also the flat box, the kinked down box and even a rail were not safe from the wild girlie campers whirling through the park…
With the sun shining brighter than you could wish for at any end of season spring session, we did what probably none of us would ever do in the park alone: spending a whole day hiking kickers and boxes, over and over and over again until nobody could move any more. With 180s already working backside and frontside for most us, it was time to get on the 3s – which is definetely its very own story as we learnt throught many assbombs and faceplants… Fortunately the snow was very slushy and forgiving though and if you’re not too strict on the actual degrees you could even say we stuck one or two…
But such a hard days work was of course rewarded and so we enjoyed the sunset with a nice cold Weißbier on the terrace of the mountain hostel Crap Soign at 2200m, without having to leave with the ski patrol when it was the nices like all the other guests not sleeping on the mountain… Followed by a traditional Swiss cheese fondue, it really was a hell of a perfect day!
But the slams and reward beers were a bit visible today and we were all happy half a day’s riding was followed by a relaxed Yoga and Spa session down in the village, where we moved to for the rest of the week.
So hopefully we’re all back with full power tomorrow, ready to nail that spin and succeed in completing a full boardslide on the rail – without broken tailbones hopefully…
