While biking has become very fashionable, there are still seem to be women who are put off cycling by concerns over their appearance. To get behind such prejudices, Cycle Cambridge have joined forces with Amy Fleuriot, founder of women’s sports fashion brand Cyclodelic, to work with students from CSVPA, Impington and Netherhall Colleges to get their take on velo chic. With designer labels such as Dashing Tweeds, Lost Values and Bobbin Bicycles thrown into the mix, I Bike Cambridge will be proof that ladies don’t have to reach for the unflattering fluorescent when hitting the road.
Taking place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of July on Parkers Piece, I Bike Cambridge is the place for any budding Bicyclista to be seen. Designed for a new breed of cycling sisters, I Bike Cambridge will allow ladies to pick up the latest tips in cycle style during the daily fashion shows, shop for designer performance fashion on the exclusive stalls, view an exhibition of the students work and get information on everything from the best routes to take to simple bicycle maintenance.
Teams and individuals are encouraged to get involved, as the sound system (provided by Magnificent Revolution) will literally feed off the energy of the audience, who provide the power by getting on our blinged bikes, customised by Cambridge students, to generate the electrical energy needed to keep I Bike Cambridge on the road. Goodie bags will be given away to best dressed teams and feats of exceptional endurance.
