I left Pakistan just in time for the New Year to arrive, and to celebrate with all my friends. Have been so happy to see them and hang out again and just talk bullshit…..what a luxury!
The first week back in Norway was quite grey, but then the sky suddenly decided to give us some white powder and the skiing has mostly been good since. Started a teacher training course in yoga to keep myself busy in the week days when everybody else is working. The rest of the time I try to see my friends as much as possible.
Skiing with the girls
Last week was spent at the ISPO in Munich hooking up with my sponsor Berghaus and having a lot of fun. Then I went straight to the small city of Røros in the middle of Norway for a photo shoot. We had minus 30 degrees Celsius, but it was so beautiful there I just didn’t care. In Norway we have a saying about how there is no bad weather, only bad clothing. So with some extra layers of my favourite Berghaus stretch fleece I set off driving a dog sled across the spectacular winter landscape. Blue sky, and snow crystals sparkling in the sun….;-)
For the weekend I hooked up with my girlfriends at the cabin of one of them which luckily for me was only one hour away from one of my favourite jumping spots. So Saturday I set off alone hiking up the mountain in the deep snow and really enjoyed myself. Quite a special feeling to be alone in the mountains, and I have to say I was a bit nervous, but the jump was better than I could ever imagine, starved as I am on free fall, so now I’m only dreaming of another chance to go up there. But winter isn’t really the best season… Just checked the weather forecast and figured my best shot at an activity this weekend is skiing and I can’t really complain about that;-)
A bit difficult to take a picture of myself jumping, but these are the tracks leading down to the exit point.
