Here at Cooler we love a feel good story to carry us into the weekend and this one got us smiling over out morning coffee today.
While glossy wanderlust photos have their place across Instagram and Pinterest (and sometimes in this magazine, too), we all know that they don't represent real experience and you cant beat true adventure and travel stories.
This woman posted photos on Reddit this week to show her very unique way of recording her travels, by using her prosthetic leg.
Born with a congenital bone disease, The unnamed traveller who goes by the username 'devgal' on Reddit, had to have her right leg amputated above the knee when she was only four years old.
Clearly not one to be put down, she found a way to include her prosthetic in her travels and create a scrapbook of memories and places.
When she set off from the US to travel the world, she had the ingenious idea to paint her leg with chalkboard paint and take some chalks along with her. For each place she visited, she documented the moment with her leg.
What is even more brilliant about this story, is that the online photos managed to get the attention of someone online who had met the girl on her travels and reunited them once again.
While it sometimes seems like everyone and their mother are documenting their travels though kooky social media trends, this girl's unique idea for celebrating life and what makes us different, really pulled at our hearts strings and has left us feeling pretty inspired.
