We're all guilty of posting highly stylised, flattering photos of ourselves when we're traveling. Between our own vanity shots and the professional wanderlust accounts made to sell us products, Instagram is full of perfectly filtered and posed photos on beaches and in front of the planet's most famous landmarks.

Michelle Liu however, a travel blogger from Boston, America, has different ideas of how she wants to share her adventures. Liu's brilliant idea of 'chinning' her way around the world, posting photos on her profile Chinventures has got us smiling this morning at Cooler HQ.

From London to LA, and all over the world, this Instagram profile is a great reminder to not take social media that seriously.

'Chinning', the act of taking a photo from below to show all your chins in their full glory (a la Ricky Gervais ) is not your conventional way of documenting your travels, but Liu is giving the finger to the expectations of female travel bloggers in the most brilliant way.

“My chinning entertained my friends all through middle school, high school and college, at which point I decided to share my chin with the world," she explained to MIC.

“Strangers always notice me chinning," she said. “Some appear shocked, others confused, but across the board from my experience, they are usually entertained."

Check out Liu's hilarious photos below and follow her to keep up to date with where she and her chin go next.
