If you haven’t already heard about hipster Barbie, you need to get on Instagram quick.

Socality Barbie is the hilarious parody Instagram account taking the piss out of every adventurer on the interweb.

Barbie has traded in her pink car and high heels for a Herschel backpack and a pair of walking boots – with hilarious consequences.

Instead of posing on the beach, Barbie is taking artful beach photos of herself wrapped in a blanket or holding an ice cream up with the following caption:

‘Cuz holding your ice cream up to a wall turns it into art’

The woman behind Socality Barbie is a wedding photographer from Portland, Oregon who wants to remain anonymous.

She started the account about three months ago to take the piss out of people using hashtags like #liveauthentic and #socality.

“People were all taking the same pictures in the same places and using the same captions,” she told Wired.

“I couldn’t tell any of their pictures apart so I thought, ‘What better way to make my point than with a mass-produced doll?’”

Socality Barbie has already well surpassed 604,000 followers – and the number just keeps on growing.
