Why You Should Date A Girl That Surfs, Skates Or Snowboards

They make the best adventurous partners-in-crime

Let’s be honest, surfers, skaters and snowboarders are pretty attractive human beings.

They spend most of their time outdoors, they are care about their bodies and they are a whole lot of fun to hang out with.

However, most are too busy practicing their sport to give a damn about whether a bloke (or lady) wants to ask them out.

That said – women who ride are among the most fancied females on the planet. It’s not all about Alana Blanchard look-a-likes in tiny bikinis.

Here is why you should date a woman who rides waves, powder or concrete…

1) Adventure Is Their Middle Name

They’ll be the first piling the boards in the car for a surf session to scout out new spots.

They’ll be studying weather charts, and be privy to unmarked trails best for scouring out after a fresh dump of snow.

Count on them to know the route to mythical reefs that produce perfect peelers. They’ll be stoked to cut up an old stick to make a home-made split board.

Think of these girls as the best sort of adventurous partner-in-crime.

2) They Are Highly Motivated, Early Bird Types

To climb that peak they’ve spotted outside their Alpine window means no more smoking occasional cigarettes or drinking jäger shots.

They’ll be in bed early and up with the larks, hiking/stretching/boarding to get fit.

Think girls in the apex of health with glowing skin and a thirst for adventure. They’ll be toned, tanned and taking the mountain by storm.

When you apply this to surfing, it’s even more apparent. Surfing is a labour of love that takes years to perfect. Anyone who’s tried surfing, even for a day, can relate to the trickiness of standing up on a board on a shifting surface.

Spot a killer surfer – girl or boy – and you know they’re seriously committed. They’ll have spent hours in the ocean, been frustrated beyond belief but yet exchanged these setbacks for cutbacks.

3) Two Words: Great Bum

I mean, carving turns on anything – whether it’s water or concrete – for hours a day can only point to one thing – glutes of steel.

4) They’ll Beat Most Guys At Arm Wrestling

Dedicated time spent paddling in the ocean creates sturdy arms. This is perfect for winning pints in pub contests.

5) They’ll Get Board-Related Chat Up Lines

Sweet-talking takes on a whole new level when you can see the multiplicity of puns, such as ’getting deep’ in a barrel or ‘pumping’ a few turns.

Get creative and you’ll be sure to get a least a cheeky grin, rather than a look of pure bafflement if these lines are tried on non-boarding female counterparts.

6) They Rock Boys’ Clothes Much Better Than Guys

Think big, baggy fisherman’s jumpers for a post-surf layer, or over-sized vests made for boys tucked into high waisted jeans.

These girls make practical look hella trendy.

7) They Don’t Need To Be Babysat

If they’re getting hassled while armed with a skateboard, they can skate away faster than Candide Thovex on a freestyle descent.

They spend time studying mountain turns and wave movements, so it’s small fry for them to swivel, and carve around bendy corners sideways.

8) They Are Cheap Dates

Don’t bother booking pretentious restaurants, or over-priced fad events in East London.

Date night consists of camping out on a beach with the best swell forecast.

9) They’ll Get Way More Excited About Waxing Your Stick Than You Ever Thought Possible

Maybe it’s just that ice-maiden-snow-girl aura, or simply the smell of salt and coconut wax that lures people in.

Perhaps it’s the fact that nothing spells sassy more than a girl that’s too busy surfing, snowboarding or skating around to be waiting for someone to ask them out.

Dates revolve around tide charts, and snow fall. If the swell picks up, be prepared to be ditched.

They’ll be off cavorting in the surf or snow and you’ll be left trailing in their wake.
