Whether you’re a complete novice or an aspiring pro surfer get yourself down to the Billabong Girls Surf Days this summer. You’ll not only get free lessons, tailored to your specific level, by pros including Alana Brennan, you’ll also get advice on choosing the right board for you, selecting waves and surf etiquette.
You’ll start each day with a yoga warm up session to get you feeling all zen, and in between wave riding attend workshops on nutrition for surfing and the all-important environmental issues affecting the sport, finishing up with a hip-hop dance class to get you set for evening. You’ll be invited to model for the Billabong Summer 2008 fashion show, should you be so inclined. And on the Saturday night a special guest will play an acoustic set on the beach.
What to do
Register pronto at the Billabong Girl Days website as it’s first come first served so only the first 150 people will be able to come down. Registration closes on 1 July.

Woolacombe (Devon), UK – Main Beach – Saturday 12 July and Sunday 13 July.
Hossegor/Seignosse, FRANCE – Plage des Bourdaines – Saturday 5 July & Sunday 6 July.
Barcelona, SPAIN – On the weekend of 19 and 20 June (with ‘special Barcelona’ workshops, skate lessons and graffiti ).
Miengo (Cantabria), SPAIN – Playa de Mogro – Tuesday 1 July & Wednesday 2 July.
Cascais, PORTUGAL – Guincho Beach – Wednesday 30 July until Saturday 2 August.
