Brunotti: Riding waves since ‘79
Congratulations to our lucky winner: Emma Wildman
Brunotti is a sboardsports and lifestyle brand with history, passion and power. As compelling and forceful as wind-driven ocean waves, lifted ever higher by the underlying reef, the brand faces an inspiring world.
Roots
The history of Brunotti dates back to 1979, when twenty-three-year-old Italian Claudio Brunotti travelled through the Netherlands. He began to experiment with materials in his Scheveningen workshop and designed his own windsurfboard. Personally testing the designs, he perfectly understood board development and shaping requirements. Even his promotional T-shirts became hot items. They rapidly gained popularity and became collectors’ items. The contemporary clothes collection with a surfy look and Italian touch took the market by storm.
From waves to slopes
In 1990, Claudio effortlessly turned from surfboards and beachwear to developing snowboards and corresponding functional and technical snowboarding outfits – again based on his personal experiences and those of other snowboard riders, and consequently meeting the needs of extreme sporters.
Claudio eventually passed on the ins and outs of board shaping to Jinne Sietsma, a real Scheveningen surfer, who prefers to be on his board day and night to anything else.
True to the waves
Today the Brunotti brand is known for its rich look, which is developed by an experienced, motivated team of stylists and riders with an excellent grasp of fashion and marketing. Brunotti lifts the wave of innovation ever higher – bringing about well-defined segmentation in the collections, while showing proper respect to company roots, commercial success and fashion.
