To avoid getting some angry surfers on your back, it’s a good idea to firstly try catching some of the smaller green waves, just ahead of the line up.
These waves will not only be away from the advanced surfers, they’ll also be slower and not as powerful and peeling.
When you join the line up, remember that longboarders tend to sit on the outside of the wave with the shortboarders further in to the middle.
As a beginner, you will not have a great spot in the lineup, especially if you’re not local. Keep at it, you’ll work your way up!
