Time To Turn
Time To Turn
Once you’re successfully catching the waves, you’ll probably notice that the more experienced surfers around you are getting longer rides and not heading straight towards the beach.
The next step is learning to turn.
You will probably find that by the time you’re easily catching unbroken waves, you’re feeling the urge to turn naturally, but you do still need to put a little thought in.
The easiest way to turn when you’ve go onto a wave is by taking your front arm and bringing it round to the direction you would like to turn into the wave.
While doing that, make sure you look at that arm, twisting your torso to face that direction and you’ll find that your board follows.
Once you’re turning well, you can ride the face of the wave all the way down and hopefully get a much longer ride!
