Who doesn’t want to live the van life? It seems like once a day, we have a daydream about selling up, buying a van and escaping on the open road.

While we sit and imagine life in a van. other people on the other hand actually take the plunge and make nomadic living a reality.

Ever since Foster Huntington shared his amazing van with the internet, the #VanLife movement has spread like wildfire, with its simplistic and back to basics ethos resonating deeply with people who feel overwhelmed by the materialistic society around them.

Whether it be a surfboard, a tent or just a camera stashed in the back, these guys have embraced life in a van with open arms and are doing it brilliantly. Check out their lives below and be prepared to feel seriously inspired to grab your nearest and dearest and your dog, buying a Westfalia and hitting the road….

“Today we can choose to live in a temperature-controlled home with hot running water, fuzzy carpet, porcelain poopers, and your very own dishwasher. All of this comes with a price tag though, and not just a numerical one. We don’t need any of these things. Many of us are raised believing that we do, but it’s all extra.”

These are the words of Jane, the creator of ‘Rock Meet Soil’ a creative website of stories of adventure and the road, who runs the site from her van.

Her and her boyfriend are about to take on a winter of van living across Colorado to find a simpler way of living life. So rad!

Rob and his girlfriend look like models and live out of their van having adventures, yet as for as we can tell, they’re not actually creatingtheir wanderlust filled photos for anyone but themselves – we like that.

If you to follow photos of two very beautiful, blonde adventurers travelling the world, being in love and generally having a blast, the give rob a follow on Instagram.

Travelling across Australia, surfing the best waves, making friends with the wildlife and sleeping in the mountains? These guys are living life right.

Hal Newbegin

We had the pleasure of meeting Hal recently on a hike in Ojai. Hal’s company Juniper Ridge creates perfume and scents out of the wild flowers of the Californian mountains, distilling them in the back of the van, using no unnatural ingredients.

While most of us appreciate the sights around us on a hike, Hal thinks that we’re missing out by not using our other senses, encouraging every one to not be scared to use their nose to get back to nature and understand all the plants around them.

Travelling all over the states in his van, Hal creates scents and explores the landscape of every place her goes. A true modern eccentric and all round awesome guy!

Nelson Vandela

Apart from the fact that he has a hilarious name, we don’t know much about Nelson Vandela. This mysterious nomadic traveller has an Instagram account chronicling his van adventures, yet it only has 15 posts.

“Traveling National Parks and the US in a 1987 Westfalia Corporate life” says his profile, which show photos of Nelson, his van and the amazing American landscape.

Where going to follow him in the hope that he starts to share!
