We caught up with the Italian shred head to learn more about what riding south of the Alps is like

Do you still remember your first time on a snowboard?

To tell the truth I do not remember much. Probably only the change from skiing to snowboarding. I remember numerous falls, and laughter, and my old teacher who took me to every chairlift.

When and how was that?

I think it was in 2006/07, it was fantastic. Even now I try to experience it as if it was the first day again! It changed my way of life.

Do you still go to school?

Hahaha yeah, unfortunately I still have to finish high school. But it's really difficult sometimes, if there was no school I could spend all my day on the board! But after school I will concentrate on snowboarding.

How is the girl snowboard scene in Italy?

We try to improve, but it's not that easy. There are only a few parks that are always in good condition. Livigno is gorgeous, but I only go there twice during the year, including one time for a competition. On the other side there's an overabundance of rails in the park in my resort! But most good girls you see are just on the slopes, not in the park.

Are there a lot of contests for girls in Italy?

Yes! There are girls who will never stop believing in women's snowboarding! There is a contest that tries to improve every year, the 'Roxy Chicks Game'. It's beautiful, there are only girls, even the judges are girls! Music, snowboarding and happiness, thanks!

You are going to the World Championship, right?

Yes, although this is an event that scares me, too much almost! I'm not at the same level as the other riders, but I am happy that I got to this point! I would never ever, ever have expected that!

Do you also want to go to Olympia in 2014?

Who knows...!

What do you think about slopestyle being Olympic now?

Now the world can see what the real stunts are, however small my brain is, I cannot understand how you might think and even say that boardercross is the most acrobatic discipline in snowboarding! At least that's what I heard in Italy once. So I'm very happy that at least now slopestyle is also present at the Olympics.

Have you been to any FIS contests before?

I've participated in some European Cup and World Cup events, and if I've been to any others I do not remember!

What do you think of them?

They are good events, but you really feel the pressure of the competition.

You were born in France, but grew up in Italy – do you feel more French or Italian?

I am just born in France (I live near the boarder), but my mother is Colombian. But I am absolutely Italian. Yeah!

What’s typical Italian about you?

Everything :)
