Snowboarding, Fitness & Yoga Holidays | Introducing Zest, Who Combine Action Sports & Healthy Living

This new brand mixes rad sports like snowboarding and surfing with proper fitness sessions

Love snowboarding? Love fitness? Love yoga? Well then this new holiday company is right up your street. Launched by Personal Trainer Madeline North and her professional snowboard photographer husband James, Zest Holidays kicked things off with a surf trip down to Cornwall this summer and are currently taking bookings for their first ever winter holiday, running from 18th – 25th March 2017.

Zest are offering a week’s accommodation in the luxury, fully-catered chalet Madosa in Morzine, at the heart of the legendary Portes du Soleil ski area. As well as half board and all the chalet trimmings (cakes in the afternoon, a hot tub, minibus service to and from the lift each day etc.) guests get free transfers to and from Geneva included in the price.

“What sets Zest apart from your average holiday company is their focus on combining action sports with health and fitness”

But what really sets this apart from a regular chalet break (and what sets Zest apart from your average holiday company) is their focus on combining action sports with health and fitness. As Madeline North puts it: “With more and more people enjoying fit and active lifestyles when they are at home, we thought why not continue the practice whilst having a holiday?

“Don’t worry though, it isn’t about extreme diet camps, but rather a healthy balance of relaxing, activity and fitness whilst you are away.” To this end, she will be offering warm up and workout sessions every morning before guests head out to the slopes and a stretching session and yoga for snowboarders and skiers in the evening.

Rather than the usual carb-laden tartiflette or heavy fondu, the evening meals are from menu designed specifically for Zest, which is healthy as well as tasty. Obviously, no-one’s going to stop you having a couple of apres pints if you wish – this isn’t a hair shirt boot camp – but the idea is to keep guests healthy, well-stretched and strong so they can make the most of their time on the hill.

“We want to send you back from yout holiday feeling revived and healthy not hungover and tired”.

“We aim to improve our clients’ pre and post snow trip training and mobility maintenance,” says Madeline, “meaning each time you get up and hit the mountain you can do so with fresh and well-conditioned muscles. This means no tired legs and a reduced injury risk.” Ultimately, the company’s aim is “to send [guests] back from [their] holiday feeling revived and healthy not hungover and tired”.

If that sounds like your sort of thing, then check out the Zest website and get booking – you’d better be quick though, if their inaugural surf trip is anything to go by, this winter break will sell out fast!
