Did you know that Hobbit Town was a real place in New Zealand?

Apparently when Peter Jackson came across Alexander Farm on the North Island of New Zealand, he thought it would be ideal place to film Hobbiton for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, according to Twisted Sifter.
