Rolling around NYC with Hannah Bailey

Words and images by Hannah Bailey

‘A couple weeks back I was over in the U.S. for an East coast road trip which took me from NY to Delaware to Maryland in just one weekend. It was a special brand project that ended with me hanging at Travis Pastrana and Lyn-Z Adam’s ranch in Maryland on the Sunday before heading North to finish up my epic trip in one of the finest cities there is, New York. I seemed to be on some sort of lucky streak, as the city hit highs of 28 degrees that week, so after being a classic tourist, hanging in Harlem and seeing some skate, it was time to hit the beach. New York has it all and I snapped every bit of it on my Lomography LC-A and Pentax P30. Check out some of my grainy, unfiltered, analogue shots to see how I did New York City…

But I had Hudson River Park’s Pier 62 skatepark on my list of things to see, so I headed there on a hot midweek day. Too hot to roll around, I snapped some of the skaters with the backdrop of the Empire State Building in as many shots as possible (tourist). Unbelievably, pioneer of street skating, ‘The Gonz’ turned up for a quick 15min backside air practice in the bowl, almost too much for my brain to take in! This city always delivers…

Classic Coney Island

Home of the Warriors, Coney Island has always been an intrigue to me. I like amusement parks and I like beaches, pair them with a NY twist and you’ve got the spot! I went on a scorching day during the week and although the amusement park was closed, the beach and ice cream stand were ready to host me…
