Alizé Arnaud was crowned ASP World Junior Champion today at the second and final World Junior Surfing Championships event held here at North Narrabeen, Australia.
The 20 year old O’Neill rider from Anglet, France was lifted up the beach after her semi final heat, the French flag draped around her shoulders.
Despite having lost her semi-final heat, Alizé’s closest rival for the title and good friend, Laura Enever, was knocked out in the semi-finals, allowing Alizé to take victory: “She showed she was the best in both events, she performed in every condition and got through and that’s what it takes to be a world champion," Laura Enever said.
So what’s next for the World Junior Champion? “First I have to get my driving license," said Alizé. “Then I’m going to do the WQS and my dream would be to be on the World Tour in 2 years."
