For three weeks from next Monday on, you’ll get the chance to marvel at the “best under-exposed contemporary artists, illustrators and lowbrow weirdness from around the world” in the Atomica pop-up gallery in Shoreditch, London!
From December 4-24th 2o12, the pop-up gives a taster of what’s to come when the real deal opens with a permanent spot next year.
Atomica Gallery is dedicated to showing the best in new contemporary art, including – but not limited to – Pop Surrealism, Lowbrow, Mid-Century, Polynesian Pop, illustration, modern folk, tattoo artistry and Naive Pop. Atomica aims to give these scenes the love and attention they deserve, creating a London venue for global talent while inspiring local neighbours and friends.
The inaugural show will bring together some of Atomica’s favourite artists – both established and rising stars – including: APAK (US) | Castro Smith (UK) | Christopher Conn Askew (US) | Derek Yaniger (US) | Eleonor Boström (Sweden) | Femke Hiemstra (Netherlands) | James Clapham (UK) | Matte Stephens (US) | Niagara Detroit (US) | Richie Fahey (US)
Ryan Heshka (Canada) | Sophie Alda (UK) | Tom Bagshaw (UK) …plus Polynesian Pop collectables from Cheeky Tiki (UK)
Artwork available for purchase will include quality and affordable signed, limited edition framed and unframed prints, collectable objects and other hard-to-find/easy-to-love, artist-made rarities. Atomica are also proud to announce that Ryan Heshka has produced an exclusive giclée print especially for the launch, “3-D Bi-Polar Robot Telephone Girl”.
And make sure you don’t miss the opening party on Thursday 6th December at the gallery – art, drinks, music and fun!
