Thanks to my generous boyfriend I have had a week away staying in Avoriaz in Portes du Soleil. Our Rude Chalets Apartment is kitted out with Burton Fashion; Burton door mats, mouse mat, cushions, clock, pictures/photos, xbox game and some trendy Burton ornaments. This is the ultimate guy hangout; an apartment with everything you need with the stylish Burton theme. Oh, and you get a copy of Whitelines on arrival. I am still a fan though of the picturesque wooden chalets with little marmots as ornaments!

We had a great week enjoying the rad snow conditions and venturing off piste. It was nice to have a week enjoying the boarding and keeping myself out the park (which I promised my boyfriend), managed to sneak in a rail or two though. Just exploring, tree runs, off-piste challenges and a bit of Mutzig fully sums up this trip away. We did the Swiss circuit a few times; which takes you from Avoriaz to Les Crosets to Morgins and then to Super Chatel; where you catch a bus to Chatel Village and then head back up the mountain towards Avoriaz. The perks of this circuit is that there are not very many tourists and the runs are lovely and clear but the down side is that you have to brave the T-bars.

Being in Avoriaz is sorted as you open the door and you are literally on the slope. I am relieved I did not have to venture up Super Morzine lift this week as that route nearly killed me off with boredom on my season. So it was ace to be in the midst of it all with quick access into the Swiss side and to all the parks (not that I was allowed in them this week). It was great to catch up with boarding mates in Morzine too and to see them all loving their season (for some it is like their 12th season!).

Also you forget the luxury of enjoying cafe au lait on the piste with delicious crepes followed by Tarte aux Pommes.
