Eurosport Shoot in India

I just returned from a two-week shoot in India for Eurosport. I’m presenting this new travel show called Sport Trip together with snowboarder Anne-Flore Marxer, and we will go to different places around the world and try out new sports.

In India I tried cricket, golf, yoga, a martial arts called Kalaripayattu, and diving. It was a piece of cake to try everything but the diving. I have a major water phobia, so I don’t know why I put myself in the situation I the first place, but when I sat on the edge of the boat, ready to jump into the water I didn’t feel ready at all! I hadn’t practiced anything, not even how to empty my mask of water! I had just been told quickly what to do and the dive instructor actually thought I was ready? Well I had to be, there was no way around it, and I slipped backwards and dipped into the water. Once floating on the surface I wondered if that would be enough, and prayed to whom ever that they wouldn’t send me down and that we had enough footage already. But of course I had to go down. There was only one thing to do, be brave, breathe and manage my fear. And as we came down and sat on the seabed it was actually not bad at all. I even liked it. The visibility was really bad though so we didn’t see a lot, but I realized that it was a lot of fun and that it would be helpful in fighting my water phobia, so now I’m sitting here trying to figure out where I can go next so I can do some diving…

And India was awesome by the way, beautiful, warm and colourful, and one of the bets things probably was that no one gets offended if you eat with your hands, lick your fingers and burp in a restaurant!
