For those keen to catch snowboard action at its best, Air and Style Munich 2007 is the place for you.
The competition is taking place at the Olympic Stadium Munich on December 1st 2007 and is the chance to see radical freestyle snowmobile riders and some of the world’s best snowboarders showing their radical jumps and fine style to the 30,000 expected spectators. Three top music acts, to be announced at a later date, will perform at what is deemed to be the world’s biggest and best straight jump snowboarding contest to provide a one day festival of music and entertainment.
Organisers are promising that this year’s contest will top last year’s memorable event and will be a benchmark in snowboarding. Top stars from the snowboarding world are dominating Air and Style 2007’s starting grid, guaranteeing displays of snowboarding at its greatest.
With TTR Champions, the winner of X Games 2007 and FIS World Champion all competing for the title and the prize money, it is not to be missed. Some of the world’s top snowboarders competed for the 16 starting spots, and with 15 riders already confirmed, one much coveted space remains.
Last year’s Air and Style winner and 3rd of the TTR Championship 2006/2007, Travis Rice, will lead the snowboarding elite. He will be joined by Risto Mattlia and the TTR Vice-Champion Antti Autti who are keen to redeem their defeat following last year’s super final.
Also in attendance are: Andreas Wiig, winner of the X-Games 2007, Swiss superstyler Nicolas Müller and the reigning FIS double world champion Mathieu Crepe. A group of young US riders including Danny Davis, Kevin Pearce and Chas Guldemond, who were last winter’s whizzkids have also been confirmed.
Competing for the final 16th starting spot, the Rookie session is led by Iouri Podlatchikov, Christian Haller and Juusi Laivisto. The strong German youngster generation is represented by Marco Smolla, the Strauss Twins and Elias Elhardt.
The inventor and organiser of Air and Style, Andrew Hourmont, says that Air and Style Munich 2007 will: “Offer something totally new for the audience. Something that they have not seen live before and they will never forget.”
