Once again female longboarders from across the globe will gather in Biarritz, France, from July 3-9, 2006 for the Roxy ASP Women’s World Longboard Championship presented by Evian.
Hailing from every corner of the earth, a field boasting the world’s most celebrated longboarding specialists will be whittled from 60 to one during the competition at southwest France’s famed beachbreaks.
The Roxy ASP WWLC will run in conjunction with the Roxy Jam Biarritz presented by Evian, a summer surf festival designed to celebrate the female surfing lifestyle. Live music, art exhibitions and prize draws will bolster Biarritz’s already contagious surf vibe during the week-long event.
This is the second only championships and some of the top riders will return to make their claim for the title including Kassia Meador and Claire Karabatsos.
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of surfing in Biarritz so get ready for some birthday party celebrations. Music will come from Brazil’s CSS (Cansei der Ser Sexy.)
