Fistral Hosts Queen of Surf Event

Newquay is all set to host the fourth annual ‘Queen of the Surf’ event, a ladies-only surf day in aid of the ‘Think Pink’ Breast Cancer charity.

With the stunning backdrop of Newquay’s famous Fistral Beach, the day will be a chance for women to learn the basics or fine-tune their surfing technique with top instructors, while having a good time for a good cause.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday 12th July, the ‘Queen of the Surf’ day will include four hours of tuition in small groups, which will be separated into beginners and improvers so each surfer can get the most out of the lessons. Both groups will be filmed, so that you can take away a free DVD at the end of the day to track your progress and ability.

The event is being organised by Hibiscus Surf School and is being sponsored by Sola UK who will be donating goody bags to reward you for a hard days surfing. Prizes sponsored by local companies will also be awarded in a presentation at the end of the day.

Organiser Frances Carter said: “This is the fourth year we have organised the event and so far we have raised nearly £1,800 for the appeal. We aim to make it fun for all the family but also all profits raised will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.”
