This Autumn, Nike invites active Londoners to push their pace through the sound barrier with Nike+ Supersonic. 1,000 runners. 2,000 guests. One night of music fuelled speed.
This is a completely new Nike event, combining an exciting blend of running and live music. On the night of 17 November 2007 at Battersea Park, London’s fastest 1,000 will sprint a floodlit 1K course, cheered on by 2,000 of their mates, ending with an invite-only gig headlined Dizzee Rascal and The Enemy.
Runners compete with Nike+ chips in their shoes and their times are projected on a digital leader board to pick the eventual winner. Live music from top bands will be on hand to keep them motivated.
Contenders competed for tickets at three 100m speed trials across London. Each trial featured motivation from live DJs and the opportunity to trial Nike gear. The fastest 1000 each received a £200 race pack including an iPod nano, Nike+ Sport Kit and a pair of limited edition Nike Zoom Jasari. Plus of course two guest passes for their most dedicated supporters.
