This year’s Nissan Outdoor Games is set to promise the usual formula of an exciting film competition set within an ambitious sporting event. Five teams of athletes, driven on by film-makers, will compete in a five-day race against the clock – and each other – in a bid to bag the winning trophies.
Now in it’s fourth year, there were a flood of international sportsmen and women applying to participate in this year’s event. The five teams selected were chosen for matching the athletic standard of the team with a top-notch production team responsible for producing the photos and videos. They will have five days in which to produce a five-minute film and a series of photos in the Interlaken region. The outdoor sports represented will be kayaking, mountain biking, climbing, paragliding and BASE jumping.
Each team will have to present their pics plus a five-minute film on the 5th of July. The jury of experts will then have the difficult task of awarding prizes in the different categories…
The coveted ‘Aiguille d’Or’ movie prize and the prize for the best photograph will this year be complimented with two new awards: the ‘Jury’s Special Prize’ and ‘Prize for Best Athletic Performance’, with a total of $50,000 in prize-money up for grabs.
