Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup hits Saas-Fee

On 1st-2nd November 2007 the Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup will hit the Swiss glacier village Saas-Fee for a battle among some of the top riders on the piste.
The competition will be host to some of the biggest names in snowboarding and will see almost 100 riders
from 19 nations throwing down their shapes on the halfpipe of the Allalin Freestyle Park in a battle for
World Cup points.

Some of the big names hoping to impress the judges are reigning world Champion Manuela Laura Pesko, who is aiming
for a back-to-back win after her triumph in the season’s opener in New Zealand.

To get this win under her belt the Swiss freestyler will have to defeat Olympic Bronze Medallist Kjersti Buaas from Norway, who,
with her huge air time and kick-ass tricks proved herself to be something savvy in Turin in 2006.

Riders like Sophie Rodriguez (FRA), Lesley McKenna (GBR) and Jiayu Liu (CHN) are also expected wow everyone with
their moves in the contest.

On the men’s side, Switzerland will be rolling out 13 of its high ranking riders including Iouri Podladtchikov and
Rolf Feldmann, and Stefan Maurer and Therry Brunner to compete against US hopefuls Dylan Bidez and Elijah Teter.
As well as this, the Finnish are stepping it up with the likes of Peetu Piiroinen, Markus Malin, and Janne Korpi.
and also Mikael Sandy for Sweden and Martin Cernik for The Czek Republic.
