The Our Camp crew had the second stop of their UK SNO!zone tour in Milton Keynes last weekend. With the night fully booked the Our Camp coaches set to work helping the girls progress their freestyle skills. The atmosphere was, as always, chilled and the camaraderie was great the group worked really well together and it was great to see people meet friends old and new.
The raffle was as rewarding as ever and no-one left without a prize, the grand prize was won by a very lucky girl, a pick of the Nitro range of boards, she was a very happy camper indeed!
I’d say that the hi-light of the night was when Frank Bruno called a few numbers and gave the girls their prizes, priceless! -Thanks Frank, you’re a star.
£150 was raised and will go to the Haven Breast Cancer charity (www.breastcancerhaven.org.uk)
Thanks to everyone that came and to all of our supporting friends, Nitro, Red Bull, Atomic, Salomon, Option, SP, Etnies, Apo, Crack-Ho, Gallaz, Blue Skin, Powderroom.net, Dakine, Helly Hansen, Bonfire, Nikita, Lita Clothing, extremesportsworld.com, Subvert and T.S.A.

We landed at Milton Keynes a little early and met Ali our Mk coordinator so we could do a little course check and get the glitzy pink glamour drapes out on to the tables. We have to add that Becky Garbett (Castleford star) brought some pink fairly lights along this time and our area looked rockin’. We weren’t the only ones who arrived a little early. There were some renegades sniffing around, Sally, Tamara, and Heidi, so in true Camp style we used and abused them and got them lugging all the prizes in from the car. Good work girls, but that’s not going to earn you brownie points “now 270 on to that rail!!”Ha ha!
The sponsors were brilliant and had everything set up in time for the girls to get testing their products. Paul and Nigel from Nitro brought a truckload of Lita Outerwear, Boards and product. Sam drove up from Brizzle and had Wild Duck and Option boards and product and then poor Andy from Salomon had been working all day at the Daily Mail ski show but still kept up the momentum enough to come and have boards for the Our Camp crew to hammer on the slope. So with all that set up everyone registered got some pretty wicked goody bags and you know the rest ladies. MORE OUR CAMP SLOPE DOMINATION!!
There were loads of us and we pretty much took up any snow surface there was. It seemed to be quite contagious… did anyone else see all the boys joining in with our laps as well? Who could blame them! We seem to be growing a number of “Our Camp” friends, Matty was on hand giving out raffle tickets, and AJ from TSA seemed keen to stay as well, or was that only to check that none of the TSA test boards found a ‘new home’? On the slope you guys rocked! There never seems to be enough time at the end of the slope time to tell you all how great it is to ride and hang out with you guys. Not only that but everyone improved together whether it was doing flat land switch tricks (yup backwards!) or hitting the pick nick bench up, or just gaining the confidence that we all got on the slopes to try it on the mountains next time… Who’s in?
Prize wise- who can forget the great presence of Frank (Bob) Bruno giving out a prize or two!! How wicked was that? We raised over £150 for The Haven Breast Cancer Charity that we support and a raffle winner claimed another board, this time a Nitro stick! Other thanks have to go to Salomon, Apo, Red Bull, Crack-Ho, Dakine, Nitro, TSA, Helly Hansen,
Lita (Nitro) Clothing, Etnies, Nikita, SP, Bonfire, and finally the SNO!zone for seeing that a girls night on the snow was needed as much as any freestyle night out there!
Ladies we salute you and can’t wait to see some of you on the next dates if you can make them, 17th November -Braehead, 8th December- Castleford and maybe some of our winter dates on the snow.
