This winter, The Rip Curl Girls Tour is back, presented by Relentless energy drink. The girls-only freestyle ski and snowboard tour will be shredding up the best European ski resorts between January and March 2008.
Rip Curl is pleased to announced that one of the hottest musical talents around at the moment – Skirtbox – will be headlining the after event party on the Saturday night of each weekend! This talented four-piece has toured with the likes of The Ataris and Fabulous Disaster. Now on the verge of the big time, Skirtbox bring their head-pounding rock and catchy vocals to each venue.
The UK stops will hit Milton Keynes SnowZone on the weekend of the 12th and 13th January 08 and then Glasgow Braehead SnowZone on the 26th and 27th January 08.
Every weekend throughout the tour, girls will have the opportunity to experience freestyle lessons on the slopes and will master freestyle skiing and snowboarding in the special snow parks, getting to grips with rails, boxes and kickers.
In addition to these lessons, given by qualified instructors, the Rip Curl Team Pros will be present to offer their top tips on style and technique.
Once the girls have honed their skills, they can take part in the ‘Tricks ‘n’ Fun’ contest. Open to all girls, this three-trick-contest held on the second day will be judged by Alexandra Barrère and one of the instructors. Succeeding on your first trick is the only way to get through the contest. A Rip Curl snowboard and mountainwear are up for grabs for the snowboard and ski winners respectively.
Everyone is welcome, whatever your skills on the slopes, with beginners classes to more advanced sessions. With DJ’s, lunch and a test of ski and snow equipment with Apo Snowboards, you’ll be busy all day. To top it off there will be a free goody bag and Rip Curl Girls Tour Party (showcasing the day’s photos, videos, and DJ’s) and a chance to learn more at the Mountain Environment Protection Stand.
