The Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans, Europe’s biggest action sports & music festival is thrilled to announce that THE STREETS will headline the Watergate Bay site on Friday 7th August.
After having delivered a stunning coupling of headliners in 2008 (Groove Armada, The Pigeon Detectives and Radio 1’s Chris Moyles live show) organisers continue to bring major headliners to Cornwall’s most awesome cliff top festival location.
More commonly known by his stage name ‘The Streets’, Mike Skinner will be bringing his blend of UK garage, hip hop, grime and electronica to the main stage at Watergate Bay to headline day one of the two day 12,500 capacity festival.
Supporting bill details and the all important ‘second day headliner’ will be announced shortly – meanwhile with 3 stages, over 60 bands and god willing… better weather! The Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans 2009 is Europe’s premier action sports and music festival. Held over 3 sites in Newquay, Cornwall the event has previously attracted over 200,000 festival goers during the week. Shortened this year to 5 days the event will commence 5th August at the Fistral Site with the opening party at the now infamous Beach Sessions.
Elsewhere at Fistral is the trade village and of course the beach bar serving up chilled pints looking over all the action on and around the beach. As evening sets in the bar rearranges itself into one of the West countries most electric live music venues in the shape of the aforementioned Beach Sessions.
The final event of the Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans is the Vans Newquay Park Pro. Now in its 5th year the Vans Park Pro, taking place at Wooden Waves skate park has attracted the best skateboarders from around the UK to compete in what is one of the highlights in the skate calendar.
