The annual Burton European Open in Laax have reached half time today, with the groms contests done and dusted and the big girls getting ready for their finals coming up on the weekend.

The grom girls slopestyle finals were already decided on Saturday, with Miyabi Onitsuka from Japan bagging the title in front of France’s Chloé Sillieres and Britain’s Katie Ormerod. Sunday followed swift with the halfpipe contest, that saw Zoe Kalapos from the US victorious over Katie Ormerod, who bagged a second here, and Ramona Petrig from Switzerland.

On Monday the first round of big girls had to get ready to show off their skills and talent in the slopestyle qualification. And it was Swiss local Isabel Derungs, who impressed the judges the most, followed by Marte Soederlund from Norway and Austrian Anna Gasser. Our former cover girl Lisa Wiik (NOR), who came in fourth, and fifth place Atti Holst will complete the starter field at the semi finals, which will go down this afternoon at 2.15 pm Euro time.

We’re very excited to see who will get to compete again first thing tomorrow morning, when the finals kick off at 9.45 am!

And to make sure you can make space in your work day for watching all the action live and in colour, the women’s half pipe semi finals are scheduled for Friday, 1.30 pm and the finals for Saturday, 9.45 am. Victorious qualifiers for the women’s pipe were Sophie Rodriguez (FRA) in first, followed by Nadja Purtschert (SUI), Mirabelle Thovex (FRA), Emma Bernard (FRA) and Isabel Derungs again.
