The first New York Surf Film Festival is stoked to announce the launch of their new website, including handy details on the submission process, screening panel and how get involved with the festival.
If you needed an excuse for a trip to the Big Apple this Autumn, the festival is to be held in September 2008 and will consist of three days of screenings of independent short and feature films, cult classics, and world premieres from established surf filmmakers. “We are excited about having the site up and running so that filmmakers, surfers and visitors can stay connected with current news, photos and how to get their local surf community involved,” said festival co-founder Morgan Berk.
The submission period will be open from January 1 – August 1, 2008 and includes categories of Documentary, Animation, Biography, Geographical Location, Humor, Travel Log, Creative and Experimental for both feature and short film formats. The site also includes information on the 2008 screening panel, which includes a who’s-who of members from the surf, art and film industries from across the globe.
