When the Oakley crew suggested we get up early and queue round the block outside The Bay shopping centre to buy a pair of Vancouver 2010 mittens, I thought they were a bit mad but I’d go along for the ride. Some strings had been pulled and 12 pairs were put aside for us. Yeah, we intended to buy some mittens at some point before we left Van, but finding out that 2.6 million had been sold (front page news), and supplies were running low, made us REALLY want them.
