The Roxy Invitational presented by Salt Water Girl is still waiting to kick-off at Brakfontein, Mozambique. The Roxy Invitational Mozambique is an invite-only girls surfing event with 13
of the best female surfers in the country getting ready to hit the waves.

What makes it different?
The contest venue is in Mozambique, at the perfect right-hand point-break of Ponto Do Oro. This event is the only surfing contest that takes place in Mozambique. The event has an 8-day waiting period and is only going to get run if the waves get good enough.

What’s it worth?
The invited surfers are going to be completely catered for by Roxy in Mozambique. Then there is a R10k prize for first place, R3k for second and R2k for third.

When is it going to happen?
The waiting period is from 4-11 March, a time good in southern Mozambique for cyclone swells and favourable winds. The girls are leaving at 2am tomorrow morning to hopefully meet the east swell that is forecast to hit Mozambique. They are currently waiting for the right conditions to run just seven heats of competition.
