This week we had some chit chat with the coolest dawg in town, Mr Phomer.
Last week we saw Mr Phomer’s Kate Moss piece in this post, remember?
– Yo Phomer, how are you today?
Chillin’ like a chinchilla, wavey like duck gravy, cool like that.
– First Gaga, then Moss, who’s next?
The Supreme X Mr Phomer Trash Ups were a fun thing to do, people have been asking and wondering the same, if i would hit other ads or personality based public space “appearances”, but there are other artists who get more specialized in that field, it was something i actually did when i first started in this game, but early moved on to other things. That said, i might hit some other random ones just for fun, or the next supreme campaign when and if its up again, it is fun and let’s face it, the pics are rad and just begging for it.
– You’re from Lisbon but based in London now, what do you miss with Lisbon? Good foood?
Aha, yeah deffo good food! Luckily, those who know me, know i’m an awesome master chef, so i get by without missing it so much, but still.. Sorry London, you are amazing but you have so much to learn from latin food, really! But yeah i do miss some stuff, ofc, my family and my fam (shout out to PSA, Crack Kids, all my music fam , LX Party ppl and groupies!) the good weather, amazing night life, dumb police and half of my sneaker collection still there waiting to be rocked.
– Tell us about your latest piece at Great Eastern Street in East London!
Yeah was a fun time! Thanks to my homies at Global Street Art, i managed to be involved in the White Walls project and hit one of London’s hottest spots.
My knives obsession for the last few years was a perfect subject to portrait the spot, and East London life, i do all sorts of variations in colors, media, style and support, this was one of them. The feedback has been awesome from the people of London and other places too. If i might do some name dropping, one of the best was Ronzo telling me that the piece gave a Itchy and Scratchy feel to the spot, what an awesome thing to say, being Itchy and Scratchy a big reference to me growing up, not only as a visual, but the deep life lessons they provide.
What’s your tune of the day to a day like this?
Well my playlist as a very wide range of styles, i was a music geek for a while, growing up surrounded my people in the industry and having so many music friends doing such great things in such different areas, i myself embarked on a journey to search for new and better music all time, so its super hard for me giving this type of answers, i always feel i’m failing myself and others no referencing all i should, but since its a mission impossible, here’s a classic tune it gets me in a good mood every time, from the guys who embraced the eclectic but still street and humorous style that i represent too.
