What were you doing when you were fourteen years old? Watching MTV or skating around your block, right?

14 year-old Jade Hameister just became the youngest person in history to ski to the North Pole. How rad is that?

She arrived at the North Pole on 25 April 2016 after a tough 150km trek, which was meant to take 21 days but took longer because of bad weather.

“It was a pretty great feeling finally getting there,” Jade told News Corp from Norway. “It was like nothing I expected, like a white planet Mars — weird but awesome.”

The Australian was the first woman to attempt the journey in two years. Jade was accompanied by her dad Paul, guide Eric Philips and National Geographic cameraman Petter Nyquist.

“I would like there to be a message,” she told Australian radio station 3AW. “I would like them [other teens] to think that if they have a goal they should give it a crack.”

Despite heading back to school next week, she’s not giving up on her adventures just yet. Next year Jade will trek across Greenland with a sled before skiing to the South Pole.
