Congratulations to Stephanie Gilmore for winning the Roxy Pro Gold Coast Championship!
The surfer triumphed at the first stop of the World Surf League world championship tour, after beating American surfer Lakey Peterson in the final at Snapper Rocks.
This win marks Gilmore’s 25th elite tour victory and will move her up from sixth to first on the Jeep Rankings.
“I can’t believe it, I’ve been visualizing holding that trophy so much," Gilmore said in her post win interview. .
“It was so hard against Lakey. I’m so happy to have all the support from everyone here and there’s nothing better than winning at home."
Big love to Stephanie and all the other rad women on the tour, as they move on to their second top at Margaret River, in Western Australia, currently defended by world champion Tyler Wright.
