We're all about the educational vibes today, so we thought we'd introduce you to a few of our favourite cult photographers over the next few weeks. Most of them are subcultural icons and won't need much in the way of introduction. Like Martha Cooper for example...

But here's a little bit of info anyway. Cooper has always been a bit of a genius, picking up photography aged three, and earning her first uni degree at 19. Her work has even appeared in the National Geographic Magazine, which means she's photography aristocracy and not just someone cool who hangs out with other cool people and takes pictures of them.

This doesn't mean she didn't hang out with cool people. When she was a staff photographer at the New York Post in the 70s she started taking pictures of kids on her way home from work and was introduced to the local graffiti scene, which she became famous for documenting.
