Dream Of A UK Snow Brand Just For Women? These Guys Are Looking To Fund An Amazing New Female Line…

For people who don't want to be covered in "pink butterflies, glitter and pretty flowers" when shredding down the mountain...

When you look at female snow apparel in the UK, you’ll usually find the same story. A big company starts out making awesome snow apparel for men, then women start wearing the men’s range too. The company sees an opportunity, shrinks and pinks the range and rebrands it as a women’s line.

With so many companies getting away with selling a smaller version of their menswear, if a brand that actually creates clothing for the mountain that fits women’s needs and bodies comes along, it’s important to support it.

Snooks is a UK brand, created by snowboarders Suzie Beere and Sophie Kelly, that works to create rad clothing for female riders and dispel the myth that women’s apparel can be an add on to a men’s range.

Snooks started off as an idea the two founders had on a brandy fuelled chairlift ride one winter, while moaning about the fact that so many women were forced to buy men’s clothing in the snow industry. Deciding to create an alternative, the two women taught themselves design and pattern making skills, drew up a business plan and Snooks was born!

“We want to remain true to our roots and support local industry and British riders” says the company on their site. “Snooks gear has been created with the same grit, determination and passion that runs through the veins of British riders.”

“We understand that most female riders don’t want gear covered in pink butterflies, glitter and pretty flowers. Female riders are about way more than that.”

“Girls it’s time to get out of the men’s section… We strive to create outerwear that fits how it should fit and keeps you dry, warm and comfortable when you’re out on the mountain and still looking awesome at après or around town.”

The company has now launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their 2018 brand new outerwear called the ‘Union Series, which includes a dreamy coat and more.

The campaign is looking to raise £30,000 to build the brand and manufacture an awesome female line, using totally British companies. Their different pledging options offer a load of different goodies for supporters, including a lifetime of new winter beanies for those who pledge over £50.

If you want to support women in the snow industry and show big brands that we’re not happy with being a second thought to their men’s line, this is the kind of company you should support. Find their kickstarter here.
