We all have busy lives. We’re working, meeting friends, popping into the city, going to the gym, going for a run...
Living up to their promise to be #NeverNotOn, On Running have created a line of running clothes made specifically for the person who needs to bounce from their daily workout to the next item on their to-do list with no effort or stress. The Weather Jacket and the On Cloud All Blacks are steeped in the newest technology and couldn’t be more versatile.
Whilst we love the bright and fun colour range that On celebrate, these pieces are perfect for those days that you want to squeeze a run into your working day for example. The jacket is so light it can literally be stuffed into your pocket and the shoes are black, sleek and stylish, they don’t scream ‘run’ and can be worn with a smart outfit to see you through the day. Not lacking in technical features, both will be ready to perform the moment you ditch the suit for some shorts.
On haven’t scrimped on technology as a price of creating a good-looking product. The ever-popular On Cloud All Blacks running shoes have just been upgraded. New Cloudtec sole is an improvement on the former On Cloud All Black sole, On have reshaped the clouds, increased the grip and updated the central channel to not only allows for extra comfort and structural support, but make sure that less stones get caught in the sole too, a previous issue that has since been resolved with the new design.
The soles, in addition to the slight change in shape to the new V-shaped moulded heal, make the On Cloud All Blacks are one of the most supportive shoes out there whilst still providing comfort and flexibility. On have also improved the sock liner, now constructed using a dual density material they have increased the comfort of the shoes from the moment you put it on. From exploring new cities to being on your feet all day at work, the On Cloud All Blacks are designed for all day, every day wear, so this comfort doesn’t fade.
Other tech features include, flexible mesh upper to make the shoes breathable but also give the foot some freedom of movement. Reinforced sides and heel cup for support and stability. Reinforced at the tip of the toes with a firmer material to avoid and ripping of scuffing. The tongue is integrated within the upper so stays in place – it’s really annoying when the tongue lags to one side with some shoes, none of that nonsense here.
This jacket doesn't just pass as reasonably stylish in order to pack in as much technology as it can, it manages to be super high tech while also looking legitimately cool. The cut of this jacket achieves two things that are very important to runners, it stays in place and skims you waist and chest nicely while not rubbing during long runs and it feels incredibly light while not clinging to your body in unflattering ways, once you’ve worked up a sweat.

The On Weather Running Jacket’s greatest success is in its ability to both repel wind and rain, while also providing a high standard of ventilation technology. The upper part of this jacket is made from one hundred percent polyamide and tear resistant fabric which is loosely attached to a mesh fabric layer underneath. This means that air can flow freely between the two layers, keeping you cool, without letting moisture into the jacket lining.
Little details all around this item of clothing make it work for you at all points of your workout. The elasticated hood and adjustable waterproof wrists allow you modify the fit depending on temperature and weather, while the stretchy soft material on the inside of the arm makes for a comfortable fit with lot of room for movement.
The On Shoes and Weather Jacket are amazing examples of some of the best new technology on the running market right now, cased in a stylish and sleek aesthetic. The price tag on these products is not low, however for the amount of technology you are receiving in both products, its a much smaller payment than you would have to make for lesser performance from bigger consumer brands.
