Might be a bit earlier to think about Fall, but with the Summer taking forever and the first peeks of the latest Insight collection just fluttering in, we figured what the heck. So here’s a tiny sneak peek and a bit more background info on their upcoming Fall 2012 collection:
She’s the new wild one, where the clear blue skies, fiery foliage and the crisp air of fall’s brooding landscape lends itself to the queen of the streets and her regal ways this fall. Heavily influenced by the Neo-Expressionism art movement, bold, energetic prints clash with brilliant colour to create an intoxicating range for the girl whose just a little punk perfect.
Girls on the street pay allegiance to the enigma of Basquiat this season, as neo-noise patterns developed by Insight’s in-house art rat Rad Dan, and his childlike, tongue in cheek style is weaved onto simple shifts, a-line skirts and loose drawstring pants. Brightly woven jacquard prints make their way onto pants, shirting and blazers, while 80’s puff patching reference a degenerate movement and return onto simple crews.
Rich colours of techno sunset, cajun, rust, golden hour, inky blue and purple rain add perfect punch to falls urban landscape, adorned onto oversized knits including mohair blend chunky cable crews, turtlenecks and this seasons cable knit shorts. Embroidery, quilting and cutaway detailing are all dreamt up for the cultish cool, while embroidered suede bomber jackets, anoraks and an array of coloured chinos make for this seasons most coveted cover-ups.
A free spirit is at the heart of the midnight blooms, a feminine story of delicate fabrics, colour and embroidery all concocted into a floaty falls night. Oriental Navajo floral prints and floral embroidery adorn a range of femme silhouettes including shifts, throws ands capes. An exuberant blend of velvets, metallic stripes and rich, reptile prints offer a throwback to the decadence of the 80’s and the flamboyance of Versace. Racer back knitted dresses, luxe printed kimono tops and body con dresses have her walking electric and running the night.
A perfect prelude to cooler nights and fading sunsets, Insight’s fall collection set the tone of a girl who will blaze through the skies and leave her mark on the streets.
