After earth colours, the evolution of jewel tones is the biggest colour story on planet snow this winter. Last year amethyst, jade, ruby and sapphire were starting to shine, this year they are positively glowing from all corners. Check out Volcom’s ‘Mellea’ jacket and Vans’ ‘Eris’.
Mellow Combo
When it comes to colour combining, the approach this winter is definitely more mellow than yonder year. Clashing brights and neon flashes are replaced by more chilled out combinations of oatmeal, khaki and grey mixed with richer colours like jade, peach and coral. Split Personality
Last year we had to manually saw our boards in half. This season we can go touring in a much more lady-like fashion with a whole array of female specific split boards raring to go. Helmets aren’t just for the faint hearted, over the past few years, brands and riders alike have seen the light. Technological advances mean that helmets are now lighter and hard as nails. This winter DC is releasing a range of colourful helmets for their park shredding fans. And stalwarts of skid lids, Bern, Red, Head and POC are all busting out new styles, graphics and colours.
