It seems that every summer we tend to become either all about the swimsuits or all about the bikini. Usually, we're all about the bikini.
This year however, we've been noticing that there are a lot of very nice swimsuits out there in the shops!
Thing is, you never know with swimsuits if you're going to look chic and glamorous like the girl in the advert, or if it will look totally different on your own bod.
The only way to really know is to try them on, right?
Trying on a million swimsuits to see if they're actually suitable for normal sized human women however, is time consuming and, lets be honest, annoying.
Luckily for you, we took on the burden ourselves and tried on all of our favourite swimsuits of the summer!
We're too good to you, really, we are....
I fell in love with the edgy style of this swimsuit when I saw it online.
With its super low sides and backless fit, it was totally away from the mumsy vibes I sometimes worry swimsuits can have.
It's a really nice swimsuit! The colour really pops and looks even better in real life and the swimsuit is really well made.
The low sides and back looks badass on, however they do mean that you can't do much activity in it. Boob flashes are only a turn away!
Saying that, I've worn it swimming without offending anyone and I've also now taken to wearing it as a body with shorts on hot days, I love it!
Best for… Sitting very still and looking rad.

This swimsuit looks really lovely!
I like the contrast of the block colour panel with the patterned panel below, as well as the colourful and unusual design. Plus it fits in with the shortie surf wetsuit trend going down at the moment!
I wore it swimming and under my wetsuit when I went surfing. Under the wetsuit was definitely too warm for summer, but would be great extra insulation great in the winter.
I reckon if you were surfing somewhere very hot and didn’t want to get burnt (it protects you like SPF 50 sun cream does) then it would be perfect to wear.
The only annoying thing was that I still had to wear a bikini under it – There’s no built in support and I tend to buy swimsuit that do have support.
Best for… jumping on this year's surfer trend!

This swimsuit is really nice, it has hippie/boho kind of vibes!
The mix of bikini style at the back and costume at front is something different too, you get the tan but it doesn’t fall off like a bikini in the water! – winner.
I was expecting some gaping on the side as it’s backless but didn’t seem to which is great. I’m normally an 8 for most clothing but this 10 seemed to fit well, was a good length so didn’t need to stretch it up around my body or anything.Stayed put and felt secure. Didn’t need to re-jig it about at any points.
The colours are great and would look even better with a tan! I'd definitely wear this suit again!
Best for… going from bikini to a swimsuit for the first time.

This is a bold swimsuit!
I loved the whole style of this suit, from its crazy colours and print to its daring cut.
I surprised to find when putting it on that it felt very secure and it stayed in place through swimming and surfing.
I have to admit however, after only a light meal at lunch I did feel slightly uncomfortable with the crazy amount of hips and stomach on show so I wouldn't like to wear this suit when I'm having a bad self confidence day!
This is my new favourite swimsuit!
Best for… being bold and crazy with your summer style.

I really like the colours of this suit, as well as the cut out detail at the side and the subtle flower print of the straps!
I expected a suit with so mny straps to be difficult to get on, but it was super easy with the low back meaning that I could pull it straight on without any problems at all!
The best about the suit however is that the suit manages to be both backless and supportive around the chest! Hallelujah! someone has figured it out at last!
Best for… backless style with support

I'm not the biggest Hollister shopper, so I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that I really liked the style and design of this swimsuit.
While the suit fitted, technically, it just didn't sit right on my body whatsoever, with half of my butt on show and a constant danger of underboob showing in the cut out.
For another person it might look lovely, but for me it just didn't, which is a shame for a suit with such a lovely print contrast design!
Pretty suit, but needs to be on someone with less butt and boobs!
Best for… another girl!

I don't usually like to buy swimsuit made for bigger breasted women because they tend to be unimaginative design wise, but I loved this one from the minute I saw it!
The panelling down the front made the suit look super flattering and I loved the contrast of bohemian print and 1950s cut.
I went swimming for a good two hours in this suit and it felt supportive, didn't stretch and felt really comfortable.
This is a new fav!
Best for… Bigger boobs!
