With the Winter Olympics 2014 done and dusted, Team GB held a Welcome Home Press Conference for all their medal-winning athletes including, of course, the mighty snowboard slopestyle bronze medallist Jenny Jones.
We smartened ourselves up, dived into the press pack scrummage and emerged with this exclusive video interview, filmed by Neon Stash.
WATCH OUR FULL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO BELOW and tell your friends to as well. This is history folks!
In it we ask Jenny Jones about the phenomenal response she’s had to winning that historic first ever Team GB Snow medal and she said:
It’s mad. I’d never expected snowboard slopestyle to have such a reaction. How often do you get snowboarding and a girl on the front cover of a newspaper!
And of Simon Pegg tweeting his congratulations, she said:
Oh my god that was the coolest thing, I just had an instant reaction to that and I tweeted him straight back, just like: “Shut up! You didn’t just tweet me!”
Of how she felt on the podium she said:
I was like: “Oh my goodness I have done it!” I’ve spent over 10 years snowboarding and I’ve achieved the X Games and all the goals that I’ve had. And this goal has only come about in the last 2 years but when that goal was set out to me I suddenly thought, “Gosh I’m going for this.” But there was quite a lot at stake really, because I am a little older and hadn’t got so many podium finishes in that last period of a year or so…
Saps and longtime Jenny Jones friends and fans that we are, we also started crying mid-interview which set Jenny off, but we’re not going to show you that part. Unlucky!
