Roxy re-signs super grom Ty Walker

Roxy just signed a three-year deal with extraordinary snowboard talent Ty Walker from the US, adding her to the Pro Snow Team at the age of only 14.

“Ty is a rare bird – she has the confidence and wisdom of a seasoned pro, while at such a young age her love and excitement for snowboarding is still so fresh,” said Amber Stackhouse, Roxy Snow Team Manager. “It’s fun to be around her and see how fired up she is about riding, learning and pushing the sport.”

And also Ty is stoked about the deal herself: “Being a pro on the Roxy team has always been one of my biggest goals. To me, they are all about style, progression, having fun while snowboarding and doing what you love. These are things I really try to demonstrate in my riding. Roxy is really unique because it’s an all girls company that promotes women in a male dominated sport and riding for them is a dream come true.”

She already proved her talent as a grom with various wins, including the 2011 USASA Nationals, the 2011 Roxy Powder Jam, the Canadian Open Pro Division Slopestyle as well as three consecutive European Open Junior Jam titles. But watch this footage of her from the season 2009 – which mind you, is two years ago and when she was only 12 – and convince yourself. As they say, action speaks louder than words.
