Last weekend we swapped surf contests and beaches for a feminist march in central London and had almost as much fun.
On 24th January 2011, a Toronto policeman told a group of law students that “women should avoid dressing like sluts” to protect themselves from being raped. This obviously sparked outrage around the globe, with people from Chicago to Amsterdam standing up and saying that they’ve had enough of being victimised and labelled.
We took our lomo camera along to the London event on Saturday to take some snaps of people who rightly insist that there is zero connection between rape and what the victim wears. Quite a few of the protesters also tried to reclaim the word slut as a positive thing. They sort of convinced us (not that it took much convincing). Go sluts!!
